Evans’ close friend and former roommate, Desmond, was continually by his side throughout Evans’ time in the hospital– bringing food, keeping company, and giving his prayers. Here is a part of the eulogy he shared at Evans’ funeral.

Evans, you leaving at the age of 34 to me, means you have completed the assignment the good Lord gave you. My brother, you achieved a lot in 34 years and I am much honored to have witnessed a lot of them.

Evans loved his profession as an IT security Analyst.  He has always held the belief that, the biggest reason why Ghana hasn’t developed rapidly is our inability to take advantage of Information Technology. He thought IT is the future. He loved working for 3M.  Even when he was on his sick bed at the hospital, I will visit him and I can hear him telling the nurses, oh my company built that equipment or tool you have in your hand. He was proud of what he has been able to achieve.

Evans need not be idolized beyond what he was in life, but to be remembered as a simple and decent man, who loved his wife and family, and a great human being that we all could rely on in times of need but most importantly a man who had a passion and curiosity for life. So my friend, we will all hold you strong in our hearts until we can hold you, once again in our tight embrace.

Safe trip Evans, safe journey, my brother–and rest assured that Cindy, Gena and Hillary will be held close, protected, loved and supported by your family, your friends and this community.
